Emelia's Sweet and Savoury Chilli Meatballs

This recipe combines the rich flavours of beef and pork mince with the tangy and sweet notes of Emelia’s Chilli Jam. Perfect for a hearty family meal, these meatballs are cooked in a delicious sauce made with tomato soup and fresh capsicum.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams beef mince
  • 250 grams pork mince
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • Handful of parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 capsicum, finely sliced
  • 1 whole jar of Emelia’s Chilli Jam
  • 1 tin tomato soup
  • Salt & pepper to season

Method:

  1. Mix the beef & pork mince, onion, parsley, egg, bread crumbs, and salt & pepper in a bowl. Roll into balls and lightly coat with flour.
  2. Heat oil in a deep fry pan and brown the meatballs. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook capsicum over gentle heat until soft. Add tomato soup, Emelia’s Chilli Jam, and salt & pepper. Stir together.
  4. Return meatballs to the pan, cover with a lid, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
